Telepathy If Anyone Cares

Alice is in Wonderland.  A changeling distorted in the fetal position, she ponders how to access the sweets that loom large above her head.  Smaller and smaller they move further and farther away.  Itchy for some air down there, her shrunken point of view redirects her closer to fulfilling her final fantasy.  A David Lynch chess game with a Santa Twist.  Green is walk.  Red is level up.  Fly to the sky with the ghost of Christmas Past.  Leave Britney Alone!  They said it was just growing pains.  Heaven is on the other side of cringe.  Sinéad O’Connor reverberates.  Punk jesters.  Is the matrix real?  Double barrel submission on bended knees.  Soft power.  Soft belly.  Fully exposed.  How many sniffs does it take to get to the middle of it?  Step right up!  The greatest show on earth!  Theadorka and the atomic wedgie!  Alvin and the Chipmunks possess Daddy Warbucks while little orphan Annie shaves heads.  There’s something on the wing!  Trinity the Tuck to the rescue. Olive Oil and Popeye: a coincidentia oppositorum.  Oops I did it again, the alienation world tour!  Lalalalala. We go around the world.  Beep!  Beep!  Hair today!  Gone tomorrow, tomorrow, I love you tomorrow! I am cringe but I am free.

Can I call you back?  Disobedient Notley is on the other line. There is a Whole in me that is You.  Fly into the flame. The kisses of the sun were sweet. The only way out is through.

Soloway is pleased to present Telepathy if Anyone Cares, a performance by Theadora Frost. The title for this performance was lifted from an edited Instagram post made by Britney Spears.  We have receipts.  Join us at 7pm Saturday September 2nd.  Snag a 64 page zine featuring the work of Jake Manning and commemorative performance poster for Theadorka.  Wet your whistle and indulge with a fist full of strawberry corn cake.  Float down Lazy River, a concurrent solo show of works made by Jake Manning curated by Wells Chandler.  The performance will start promptly at 7:30. Lazy River runs through September 3rd.

Theadora Frost became a performance artist when larger than life lymph nodes in her childhood caused her to endure a spinal tap sans anesthesia.  A star was born!  Frost holds a MFA from Purchase College where she was selected to attend The Hochschule für bildende Künste Hamburg in Germany from 2022-2023.  Her practice oscillates between performance, painting and wearables.  Frost’s work has been exhibited and performed nationally at Soloway (Brooklyn, NY), Project 205 (Portland, OR), Grapefruits Art Space (Portland, OR), the Neuberger Museum (Purchase, NY), and the Miller Performing Arts Center (Alfred, NY), as well as, internationally at Family Exhibitions (Montreal, QC) and HFBK (Hamburg, Germany).
